Scheme
The bank has a
subsidiary company. The
Rural Assistance
Limited, a trading
commercial
establishment, which
provide all customers
with a wide range of
consumer/household
goods, that is,
refrigerators,
televisions sets, video
decks, sewing machines,
textiles, clothing,
cookers, fans, asbestos
sheets and to mention a
few. Customers of the
bank apply for such
items and make payment
by instalment.
Women in Development
(micro credit and
savings scheme)
The bank as partners
with Freedom From Hunger
(FFH) A Non Governmental
Organisation established
the Women In Development
Project in 1992. The
project established a
credit with education
program in the catchment
area purposely designed
to empower our rural
women to tackle the
problem of poverty,
hunger and malnutrition.
Women interested in
receiving credit come
together to form credit
with savings
associations (CSA). The
women invest in
activities that they
know already.
As at 01/01/2011, the
bank has established One
Hundred and Twenty one [121]
Credit with Savings
Associations with an
average of Twenty (20)
members in each
association in
Twenty-one Communities.
Total savings and
Disbursed loans as at
01/01/11 were GHS158,513.36
and GHC138,050.00
respectively.
